Recruiting

QAT’s recruiting philosophy is to provide high-quality IT professionals to our clients and adhere to a strict process to ensure that the appropriate consultant is identified for each customer requirement.  As an IT Services provider founded and managed by former consultants, the fundamental tenets necessary to ensure client satisfaction, be they public or private sector, consistently remain the same.  We have several processes in place to ensure that a candidate meets not only QAT’s high expectations, but also meet’s the client’s needs.

Specifically, QAT’s recruiting processes and procedures are designed to provide information helpful in determining if a candidate is appropriate for us as well as our client, identify interpersonal skills consistent with our client’s expectations and to verify that their technical aptitude meets all skill requirements. The ability to hit the ground running with actual business expertise can be a significant differentiator and enhancement for the typical QAT candidate.  The screening process in determination of best-fit candidates is rigorous.  QAT uses both standard testing procedures and then, when applicable, Question & Answer specifically authored by QAT personnel.  Employee referrals are also highly encouraged.  Like-minded consultants to those already on staff incrementally reduce any question of possible new contractor risk.

QAT’s recruiting staff meets each morning to assess the developments of the previous day and determine and delegate action items and priorities accordingly.  Upon receipt of a new staffing request, they will initially screen internal employees and contacts and within one business day determine what is defined as “Internal Candidate Status”.   Ideally ICS will provide a resource(s) that hold a background like that which the client seeks.

QA Technologies also invests in those databases found to yield the best pool of candidates outside the internal network of the company.   Along with those databases most commonly used, QAT utilizes a software solution incorporating client, candidate and resume tracking into one relational database.  Client management in the system includes profiling, organizational hierarchy, population of information such as address and contact numbers and the ability to match candidates with related skill sets as requested via the Task Order.  We believe in order to provide the best possible service we must react quickly, decisively.  When Human Resources is forced to step outside ICS this vehicle provides our recruiters the best odds for finding an experienced IT consultant.  The average number of total IT professionals within the database is on average 25,000 plus.

Retention

QAT’s Human Resources Manager has been with the company eight years.  The role includes the maintaining of close contact with the consultants, ensuring those matters outside the jurisdiction of the day to day technical deliverable responsibilities are being satisfactorily met.  Specific examples might include Benefit and Insurance issues, general career path planning, and any miscellaneous support QAT may be able to lend to increase employee satisfaction.  QAT has an exemplary retention rate for foreign national employees.  We attribute this success in no small part to the care and diligence taken to ensure smooth transitions to the United States.
